Hospitality, the number two industry in Maine, needs a reliable talent supply chain and next generation leaders. This home-grown approach, the HospitalityMaine Apprenticeship program, is a new path to strengthen and professionalize the hotel and restaurant workforce in Maine.

Enrolled apprentices will EARN while they learn, being taught and coached by experienced professionals at hospitality businesses committed to their success. Credit is given for documented prior experience and education, tailoring progress through the program to the individual apprentice. Every apprentice can earn a raise by reaching certain milestones during the program. Upon successful completion, the apprentice will receive a Certificate from the Maine Department of Labor that evidences the professional competencies gained by the former apprentice.

About Hospitality Maine

As Maine’s only non-profit trade group representing the hospitality industry, our current number one focus is securing a capable, reliable workforce for our members. The solution is to develop, renew and expand our own hospitality workforce statewide. We are transforming tired, old assumptions about the sector by creating a viable, long-term career path for new generations to come.
